This appears to be a VERY SHADY company! We have had two dealings with them, both times left high and dry. The second time the salesman, Charles Barr, guaranteed in writing that my folks would be reimbursed for the full cost of their investment if in any way the deal did not come to fruition. Attached is a photo of Charles' guarantee.

Charles guaranteed the "deal" would be completed in 60-90 days.

However, after 15 months the "deal" still has not come to fruition and it appears we are no closer to a resolution. This second go around with this company they even went through the motions like there was a deal such as making my parents pay tariffs for the shipping of the art to the new owners. At least 3 schedules for payment and shipping were made. All have been broken. There was always an excuse that was never Newport's fault-having trouble lining up shipping, the bank converted the currency into pounds instead of dollars, etc. They even tried to scam my parents out of an additional $5,000 in extra tariffs, but fortunately they didn't fall for that one.

More recently, the excuses have been the crypto currency crash and paintings held up at customs in France due to the Ukraine War. We were also informed that the "deal" referenced above never existed. They said the brokers got "giddy", "greedy", and "ahead of themselves." The claim of "free refunds any time" is also bogus because they will not refund us on the paintings we bought.

The scheme this company uses is they entice people to buy a painting(s) and promises to sell the painting(s) as a set for a big and quick return on the investment. The problem is the "deal" never happens and the buyer is stuck with a painting(s) and an empty bank account.

We have learned of other people who have also been victims of this company and been in communication with some of them. All have similar stories.

We have continued to learn more about this company. It is clear that few, if any, of their deals ever go through. It is also clear that they prey on retired or soon to be retired Americans.

They are great talkers though. The exception was when Charles Barr yelled and cussed me out on the phone and then hung up. Drew, the customer service agent promptly called me back to apologize as he and the secretary heard him yelling and swearing at me in the other room. Drew seems like a fine man though, always returns calls and calls when he says he will. That is all nice, but it still hasn't gotten us any closer to resolving this matter.

We remain hopeful that this matter can be resolved, but after 15 months of broken promises and shenangans it is hard to be optimistic. I will update though if it is.

These people are very smooth in their sales pitch. It is too bad they can't put their time and talents into something legitimate and positive.

JUST SAY "NO" TO THIS COMPANY!

Desired outcome: Refund of money and tariffs paid for State House Bell Painting by Catherine Colosimo.

Matthew Skaret of US

I could have written the exact same review. Everything Skaret said, I have heard.
