Trademark Gen review: Unauthorized agency for trademark applications

Last July, we were referred to Trademark Gen for the processing of our trademark. We were informed that they had different packages available, where we would pay a $350 service fee, and a $525 government fee per trademark class to the USPTO, which they will process for us on our behalf. After the exchange of documents and details, Trademark Gen (Jonathan Victor - agent) emailed us a copy of the USPTO Trademark Search result, a supposed detailed page that shows us an overviews of any current trademark registrants most similar or the same as ours. They provided both trademark reports for the brand name and brand logo. Since we were going to trademark both the logo and the brand name, the total amounted to $1050 each. Thereby we paid a total of $2100 via credit card.

After paying, they mentioned that they were going to file the trademark to the USPTO already. I was asking for updates after their last email, to no avail. We tried calling them several times too, to no avail. They said that the whole trademark process would take 6-8 months overall. After finally getting a hold of them, We spoke to several people in their so called company when I was getting their address, they said their office address was in 13355 West Olympic Blvd in Lumens bldg. I reached out to the building leasing department and discovered that the building had just been finished and they currently still do not have tenants.

Since we were foreigners who wanted to do business in the US, we were not aware that they were not legitimate business as they had a website and also accepted credit card payments.
