On 12/31/2022 I shopped at Store #3541 at 5:20 p.m., I wrote a check for $83.31, my cashier had to call for a manager due to it coming back as "Exceeds Max Tran Amt". Four to five minutes later a Manager arrived, the sweet cashier say's "Can you do a override?" this manager say's "I don't just do overrides". She then turns to me and says "Don't you have a Debit Card?" I said, "No, I had an identity theft so have chosen to not have another one." With a attitude she turns back to me and say's, "I will have to call your bank". This would have been totally fine but it was 5:20 p.m. and the bank was closed and I had already been humiliated and chastised by this women in front of numerous people standing in line listening to this conversation. I told her I would just charge this on my charge card. (which I did). By this time I was totally embarrassed due to this managers loud, rude and condescending attitude. Totally unacceptable.
As a 58 year old women and a successful business owner in this town I know what it is to receive bad checks and I totally understand training your staff to be aware and vigilant but this was totally not acceptable behavior from your manager. I have shopped and written checks at this exact location since it opened and I pride myself in saying I have NEVER had a bounced check.
Desired outcome: Manager training on how to respond to these situations without being rude and condescending.
