I am a customer of Synchrony Bank/Care Credit. In April of this year I was having issues paying my bill and called them to see if I could delay my payment or what options were available. At that time, I was advised that I was enrolled in a benefit program that would cover me for up to 6 months of payments during financial hardship due to loss of job, or reduction in hours worked. I initiated a claim and was awarded the full 6 months of benefits. The Benefit company issued the funds directly to Care Credit/Synchrony Bank in one lump sum during the middle of a billing cycle. Synchrony Bank/Care Credit applied this lump sum payment to the FULL PRINCIPLE debt owed instead of coding this to cover my monthly payments and have absorbed these funds, explaining that there is nothing they can or are willing to do to resolve this matter. The benefit company has explained that this is a violation of the agreement and that Care Credit is supposed to place my account into a protected status that these benefits are applied appropriately so that the BENEFITS actually benefit, ME, the consumer. I have made several calls and complaints begging for this matter to be resolved and Care Credit and the Benefit company have offered no way to rectify this issue and simply keep pushing me back and forth saying its the other parties fault. Meantime, my next months payment is already due, despite Care Credit having received over 1K in lump sum payment and they are refusing to credit my account or resolve this in ANY fashion that benefits me, the consumer, in anyway. They advertise this benefit program on their website when you sign up for an account and are equally as culpable for how these benefits are utilized with their company.
Desired outcome: Care Credit needs the reapply these funds appropriately to be used towards my MONTHLY payment until the full benefit amount has been assumed, which by my calculations would cover my monthly card payments for AT LEAST 3 more months.
