I am new to the Christiana System having moved from NYC to Delaware in late 2024. Just securing an appointment with a Christiana doctor was extremely difficult and off-putting. Eventually. I received an appointment with Dr. Heran Abiye at your Springside location and 5 days before the appointment I was called and informed it was cancelled. I then took an appointment for a Wilmington location and that too was cancelled about 2 days before scheduled. Eventually, I received one from Springside after much effort on my part to call them directly and wait for them to respond with an appointment.
I saw Dr. Abiye for the 3rd time during 2025. My prior appointment for December 5 was cancelled and no-one notified me so I showed up at the office for a cancelled appointment. I saw her 4 days later and was given an appointment for June 29, 2026. On May 30, 2026, I received a text message with a cancellation of that appointment asking me to call and reschedule. I was offered July 9, 2026 and accepted before checking my calendar to see that I would not be available that day. When I called back to reschedule I was being offered September or October. That is appalling! If you cancel an appointment that I held for 6 months, I should be given priority for an earlier appointment. Do you really care about your patients?
Desired outcome: Someone needs to get back to me with an appointment in early July. Any day except the 9 and 10th. Stop the ridiculous cancellations especially cancelling close to the appointments.
