I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received from Evans Halshaw Renault Middlesbrough, and unfortunately I can no longer recommend this dealership based on my recent experience.
To begin with, I was advised that I would receive a video vehicle health check as part of my service. This was never provided, nor was any explanation given. The video check is an important part of the service for me because it offers transparency and reassurance about the work carried out—one of the key reasons I choose main dealers. Failing to provide it completely undermined that trust.
My vehicle was also returned uncleaned, which is highly unusual for a main dealer. While this may seem like a small detail, it reflects the overall lack of care and attention during my visit and contributes to a noticeably lower standard of customer experience than I have previously received.
The issues did not end there. After paying for what should have been a major service, it appears that only an oil and filter change was completed—work that aligns with a minor/basic service, not what I was charged for. This is unacceptable and requires urgent review.
When I raised these concerns, I was told on 17th February that the matter had been passed to the Service Manager, who would contact me. No one ever did.
I subsequently escalated my complaint on 27th February, receiving an acknowledgment and a commitment that I would be contacted within 48 hours with an agreed action plan. As of 09 March—and even today—no follow‑up has been provided. This prolonged silence directly contradicts their stated customer‑care commitments and shows a serious lack of accountability.
To date, I have still not received any update, resolution, or meaningful communication regarding any of my concerns.
Overall, this experience has been deeply frustrating and far below the standards expected from a main dealer. I hope Evans Halshaw Renault Middlesbrough take this feedback seriously, because the complete lack of communication, failure to deliver promised services, and disregard for customer concerns have been extremely disappointing.
Recommendation: AVOID!
our car went in for recall and service mot it had no problems before it went in dash bord lights with failures on return left on dianoetic machine cleared faults only to repeat failure less than 40 miles later wanted a another payment just to put it on dynastic machine not a chance garage manager is a waste of time and talked a load of rubbish as was with my farther a retired motor engineer left in disgusted he contacted a friend who still works in the garage trade .am over after work fixed the problem in the time i had made a cupper tea for him and no payment needed with big advice don't use them
