Jackson Hewitt

We have used Jackson Hewitt for many many years. We have had the same person "Bob" prepare our taxes for the past few years. This year he seemed forgetful, scattered and not competent. The other person in the office overheard and observed this and helped him. It seemed he was showing early signs of dementia.

We received a letter by the IRS that for 2016, one of our W2 forms was not included with the tax return filed.
Bob is the person that prepared our taxes. Upon going to the local office in Michigan City, IN. we were informed that Bob no longer works there. We were informed that she would bump this up to her supervisor. This was 6/5 and the $1400 was due to the IRS on 6/20.

Hearing nothing from the local JH, nor the supervisor, my husband went to the local office today and was told "the supervisor cannot help you", you need to call cooperate. Then the supervisor on the line said "and good luck with that".

We are requesting a total refund for the money we paid to have our taxes prepared which was almost 400.00. Also we are expecting JH to pay for the penalties and interest that have been accrued.

In closing, we are very disappointed with the service we have received. We feel this is totally unacceptable.

Thanks service I am complainin about us my amended tax return, , I am unaware of my surroundings and feel thereaten and held without explanation of my amended, , not only I paid 125 in cash to get my return back of 324, , I checked back with the URS and I don owe anything but to my school, how ever, the lady from West webb Ave if Burlington NC, gave my a fake number, to get information in my return. This was February 27, 2018, an it is now June 7, 2018, of no return and want my money an a clear explanation if what is going on on my behalf with this tax preparer and file a claim.

Jackson Hewitt in Honolulu Hawaii did my return but the [censored] did not fill out the part time resident for hawaii correctly I went there numerous times to get it fixed, they finally did an amended return but they did not print the SCH AMD that is needed for my amended return, we filed that amended return in February and it still is not processed because the preparer did not include that and I am having to go through hoops to get this fixed; I have tried calling the Pearl City office but all the phone does is ring busy; I need my money and they should have to pay me interest because they screwed up. Do they even train these people to do the Hawaii State tax returns at all? It is a nightmare and here it is freaking June! I cannot get through to the year round office; and I need help with these [censored].

My tax prepare made two mistakes on my tax return. One he enter my kids social security numbers incorrectly.I did not file last year.he enter I did which has my return on hold.they are refusing to take responsibility. I have consulted an attorney. The prepare was elderly. I had to repeat myself several times. Could not hear me.he could not screen.the fact of mistakes proves he had problems seeing.he stated and I signed any mistakes would be on them and would make it right. So I'm asking them to cut me a check within next few days or I'll be forced to take legal action, preparer also refused to give me his CPA license number and my lawyer told me by law he was supposed to had.

I filed my taxes with Jackson Hewitt in Jan 2018, I did the advance loan which was a nightmare trying to get. The guy who prepared my return was very young and knew nothing about doing taxes. Finally we get them filed, Im then told because i did the advance my return had to be done as an amended return. I got back my taxed in Feb and was told my amended amount would around $700 would come a few weeks later. I waited and waited. Finally i called the office and one of the tax preparers told me yes the IRS has received your amended return and you should get it soon, meanwhile Im checking the IRS website everyday and nothing is showing. I call the IRS and was told we have never received it . I called Jackson Hewitt back and wad told the workers at the IRS are liars and only wand to get you off the phone. I wait a few more weeks and call the IRS back still nothing received. I finally get in touch with the kid who prepared my return and he says Im so sorry ill resend it, that was over a month ago, the offices are all closed the people at Jackson Hewitt corporate are no help. meanwhile the IRS is still not showing my return. Now im afraid this will mess up my taxes for next year, and i want my money! I will never let Jackson Hewitt touch my taxes again. They screw up and disappear.

Hello I have been a client with JH for over 10 years, I paid for audit support and got audited. I asked for help from JH and was denied so I went through channels and got with the manager . I provided all my documents, she was supposed to send me confirmation. Long story short she never sent the paperwork, nor the confirmation and when asked for her superiors info she stated she was going to lie to the irs and state I was married at the time of filing (I have all this in email) so I had to go through hell and back to get my return and I had to do everything. I spoke with Morgan Cox in escalations while I was with an attorney and she asked what I wanted, I told her all my fees back. She said no problem but we can't return then till u get your refund. So I got my return months down the road call to get my fees back and was told the lady who was helping me is gone for the season. What Yvette did was illegal by lying to the irs and I have it all through email and will report her . I would appreciate if someone contacted me [protected]

Filed taxes with Jackson Hewitt in 2017 for 2016 taxes. Ismael filed incorrectly costing me 3k with the US government. Fast forward to 2018 and taxes filed incorrectly again. Was told by escalation dept I would hear from higher up. ( nothing). Getting tax attorney involved now. I can screw up my own taxes I don't need the professionals to do it for me.

This is the worst experience me and my wife have ever had filing our taxes. We were in walmart in spring hill florida for five hours waiting and then working with a totally incompetent fool named iris. Not to mention rude. She told us that our pevious tax preparer did out taxes wrong and said we should have gotten money back. But when she completed the forms we ended up owing the same amount as the prior year. I had to go back the next day to give her some needed paper work. My wife called her and asked her if she needed to come back with me to sign anything. Iris said no. But when i went back with the paperwork i asked her if it was legal for me to sign for my wife. She said no, but dont tell anyone. This is very unprofessional. And just to give you an idea of what a creep this person is, i asked her if she would like a cup of coffee. She said yes. So when i brought her the coffee, instead of saying thank you, she just complained there was no syrup in it. So to make a long story short, do yourself a favor and stay away from these creeps

Where to begin... I went to their walmart branch in Pikeville Kentucky in 2016, to file my 2015 taxes, which was the biggest mistake I have ever made. My wife and I sat there for a long time, and paid well over 300 dollars for our taxes, just to find out later we were being audited. Came to find out, the lady that did our taxes was recovering from a stroke, and entered a bunch of wrong information, even after I gave her every shred of documentation that she would need. We not owe the federal government over 2300 dollars. After contacting Jackson Hewitt, they are refusing to cover the screw up, and promptly told me that it was my problem, not theirs.

Wen to Walmart was looking to purchase a 140$ tablet with the gift card and it didn't go thru at all they kept telling me the system denied the card
The gift card states I any Samsung tablet qualifies for this promotion and it was embarrassing having people wait behind me in line for the damn card not to go thru ... starting to believe it is a scam!

I went into an office in Victoria Texas. We were out of there within 15 minutes. Our preparer didn't even explain anything to us. She put numbers in computer and said we owed $2, 000. The lady said she got off work at 4:00pm so she rushed us through but yet she had time to talk to her kids about school when they came in. I want my taxes redone with someone else free of charge.

They charge me 583.00 to file my taxes and they didn't informe about this charges until get my tax refund check.
They didn't inform about the extra fees charge if you don't pay upfront, they charge me an extra 60.00 and the lady didn't say nothing about this charges.
Manager was so rude and ask me not comeback again next year if I was not happy with the service.

I filed with jackson hewitt for over 10 years, taking the standard deductions. For my 2015 return the worker said that I should itemize. I said several times that I had no documentation or receipts. She assured me that I would not need any, so I agreed and filed an itemized return. I was since audited for this return and owe the IRS $1700. I contacted an area manager, Steve, in the Baton Rouge, Airline Hwy office. He told me that I signed the papers so it is my problem. I have no training in filing taxes, but shouldnt she have knew better? I did in fact sign, but only on her advice. And to be told that I signed, so it is my problem. How professional is that. And I now know that I am legally responsible for this debt, but should I really be? Is JH the kind of company to accept and condone these type of things?

At the Jackson Hewitt located in or st Lucie on st james drive.Not only was my bank routing number entered wrong..thar was .y first reject then they do not know what the word dba stands for claiming that meant i needed two different w_2 s ..then they said my name did not match my as number..they not once it twice spelled my last name wrong ..my tax return was rejected 3 times.i played close to 500 for their services.Now it's still up in the sir.tjis has been goungbon since Jan 20.i feel it's unfair and I should not pay for their mistakes. I went to Jackson Hewitt in New Castle, Delaware. I had advance then l had to go back at least 1 times for taxes then 2 other times amendments. I am not completely certain that things were done correctly. My concern is l switched to you guys from HR block but l am not certain this particular site was doing there job. They seem to get things confused alot.

I worked at Jackson Hewitt in Ocoee Florida for the last two seasons. The new manager in that office was very rude, did not respect her workers. She had two white ladies in her office one decided not to come back to the office for a second year because the manager stated that she was prejudice and did not like black people, the second one the manager she too was prejudice and was a drunk. When in fact the beginning of the 2017 season one of the head managers came to the office to change out a computer and found I bottle of Baileys under the managers desk and just stated you know there is no drinking on the job and laughed. Also the store manager had the employees push through clients taxes that received an advance knowing that all of the paperwork was not received so when the client came back in with the rest of their paperwork they were forced to do an amended returns and pay extra for that return.

I got my 2017 taxes prepared at Jackson Hewitt in Douglasville, GA in December 2017. I received an advance for my taxes to get through the holidays and to take care of some things considering we were displaced due to the hurricane and winter storm. In my research, I found that I was charged a ridiculous amount for Jackson Hewitt's tax preparation services compared to other local companies. I was charged almost $600 for tax preparation when other franchises would have charged me $250. This has been my first time using Jackson Hewitt's services and I will definitely be my last. I am requesting a refund for excessive fees.

Though I enjoyed working at JH meeting new people, answering tax questions to ease the mind of a weary customer and even preparing tax returns brought education and knowledge from the best in the feild. However, being apart of a team that uses there authority to undermind you as an individual is not what I expected. I truly thought that every avenue I thought take to make the issues known and it resulted in my hours being massivley cut amd a tention in the office. Yet I want it to let someone know that I feel very disrespected becuase of the lack of communication and not given the opportunity to work. I hope in the near future noone else has the experience that I had workimg at JH Antioch.

I was emailed that my funds were deposited to my account on 2/17/2018 @ approximately 4:30 a.m. I went to A.T.M. machine and inputted pin code; unable to get anything back. I made sure pin was correct, and proceeded to four different ones and said same thing. Contacted in person, was told system failure at 11 a.m. Called on phone several times and checked online account. System shut down and line busy all day. I was not able to pay bills, or take care of business that day.
