This place needs new Owners, No matter what time I go; this place is a mess; everyone walking around like it's a play ground, time to hire a security Guard to stand in this place. Old men with there I phones filming you, wile you're working out, or staring at you with there tongues out, it makes you feel uncomfortable. Last week me and my daughter wear working out at the Squat rack, and someone next to us, was just sitting there staring at us, no one has any manners there, And trying to workout is impossible. Member's holding the Equipment for other member's is unheard of What ever happen to letting a member? Work in the set with you Everyone has a clock to punch. I pay there to workout like everyone else, not wait till your friend is done playing with his phone or when you let me use the Equipment. Last week someone told my daughter there holding the Equipment for someone and would not get up. If your looking for a real Gym anytime fitness Best gym around. Hands down the best atmosphere and attitude.

Planet Fitness Montgomery, IL — the “Judgment Free Zone” With Plenty to Judge?
If Planet Fitness corporate ever wonders why the Montgomery, IL location keeps generating a steady stream of irritated customers, they might want to take a field trip to the franchise run by Timothy Lennon and Black Duck 3 LLC. Because whatever’s happening there, it’s not the “easy, no hassle gym experience” the ads promise. It’s more like a case study in how to turn a simple membership into a full time headache.
Step 1: Reel them in with simplicity.
The pitch is classic: low monthly fee, no pressure, no nonsense. Except the “no nonsense” part seems to vanish the moment someone tries to understand their bill. Surprise fees pop up like jump scares in a horror movie, and annual charges appear even after people swear they canceled. Transparency? Let’s just say it’s not the star of the show.
Step 2: Make cancellation feel like an Olympic sport.
At most gyms, canceling is a two minute task. At this one, it’s practically an endurance event.
• “You have to come in.”
• “The manager isn’t here.”
• “We don’t see your cancellation.”
• “That fee is non refundable.”
It’s almost impressive how many obstacles can be packed into one process. If there were medals for “Most Creative Ways to Keep Charging People,” this location would be a contender.
Step 3: Add a management style that customers describe as… memorable.
Public reviews repeatedly point to Timothy Lennon and his management team as a major source of frustration. The tone customers describe ranges from dismissive to indifferent, with a dash of “your problem, not ours.” It’s the kind of customer service that makes people wonder if the gym is allergic to accountability.
Step 4: Pretend everything is fine.
Despite the steady stream of complaints, the operation marches on as if nothing’s wrong. Fees keep appearing. Cancellations keep failing. Customers keep venting online. And the ownership keeps acting like this is all perfectly normal.
The exposé version of the truth
When you look at the pattern — the billing confusion, the cancellation roadblocks, the management behavior — it paints a picture that’s hard to ignore. Not illegal. Not criminal. Just consistently, predictably, exhaustingly bad. And all under the watch of Timothy Lennon and Black Duck 3 LLC.
If Planet Fitness corporate ever wants to understand why this location’s reputation keeps circling the drain, they don’t need a mystery solving team. They just need to read the reviews.
