My wife and I went to the Columbia Missouri Staples by Colony Rd. We wanted to buy an iPad. It was in stock, but locked up. The first associate told us he had to get the manager to unlock and retrieve the item. After waiting about 5 to 10 minutes, the associate said that he would check on where the store manager was or what he was doing. Another 5 minutes went by and he came back saying that he was unloading a truck and will get the iPad after he finished unloading the pallet(s). He said that he would be finished in 10 minutes or so.

I told the associate that apparently the manager thinks a pallet is more important than a customer that is ready, willing, and able to spend $300+.

We left and bought the iPad at Best Buy for the same price.

Date of incident - the evening of 4/20/26

Desired outcome: I bought the iPad at Best Buy.
