Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my lost baggage and the lack of response and resolution from Turkish Airlines.
Passenger Name: Monir Yousfi
Baggage Tag Number: TK623385
PIR Reference: ALGTK41020/18MAR26/1118GMT ترجمة
Flight Details:
Flight TK186 from Chicago (ORD) to Istanbul on March 17, 2026
Connecting flight from Istanbul to Algiers on March 18, 2026
Upon arrival in Algiers, one of my checked bags did not arrive. I immediately filed a Property Irregularity Report (PIR), and since then I have been following up regularly.
Over the past weeks, I have:
Submitted all required documents (boarding passes, baggage tag, PIR report)
Provided a detailed list of the contents of my baggage (estimated value: 1,589.99 USD)
Sent multiple follow-up and escalation messages
The last response I received from Turkish Airlines was on April 15, 2026, stating that they were awaiting information from the Chicago station. Since that date, I have not received any further updates despite several reminders.
It has now been more than 31 days since the incident. According to the Montreal Convention, my baggage must be considered officially lost, and I am entitled to compensation.
Furthermore, I was previously informed that a similar baggage had been identified; however:
Its exact location has not been confirmed
No delivery has been arranged
Some important items (including a mobile phone and a perfume) were not mentioned
This situation reflects a lack of communication, delay in resolution, and significant inconvenience.
