LA Fitness International

Hi my name is Maria, been a long time customer with La Fitness(sheridan and 52nd ave)to be exact... there was this ad on my email but when I got there, they said different:

Restart your membership today for $0 initiation fee and only $29.99 per month for multi-club access. First and last months' dues required at the time of enrollment.*

I had to pay for the money down ($40) and $35 per month...I would like to know how I go about getting it back, and if this is true?
