purchased a new air conditioner from Whirlpool and the installation was done recently at my residence (2nd floor).
During installation, the service team refused to install the outdoor unit at the same sunshade location where other ACs (like Voltas) are already installed in my building. They insisted that I purchase an additional 3-meter copper pipe and place the outdoor unit differently.
They initially informed me the total extra cost would be ₹3950 (₹3600 for copper pipe + ₹350 installation). However, after installation, they generated a bill of ₹5200. After argument, I paid only ₹3950 as originally agreed.
Now, within 2 days, the AC has stopped working. When I contacted the service team, they are refusing to attend service unless I pay an additional “bending charge,” which was never informed earlier.
This is completely unacceptable. I request:
Immediate service/repair of my AC under warranty
No additional charges for any work not previously approved
Strict action against the installation team for misleading and overcharging
If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate the matter to the consumer grievance authorities.
Kindly treat this as urgent.
