Annual Well Woman's exam
I went in for a Well Woman annual exam in February 2026 and was very disappointed to later find out I was charged for two separate exams. Simply because I asked questions during my appointment. Patients should be encouraged to discuss concerns and communicate openly with their doctor, especially during preventive care visits. Charging extra for asking questions creates an environment where women may feel afraid to speak up about important health issues for fear of additional costs. Good patient-doctor communication is essential to quality healthcare, and this billing practice felt unfair and discouraging. I hope Columbus Woman's Healthcare office reconsiders how they handle and communicate charges related to routine patient discussions during annual exams. At my exam, there was no printed or verbal communication in regard to "questions being asked" will result in an extra exam cost on the same appointment.
Recommendation: Annual preventative exam will cost the patient!
