Farmers Home Insurance charge is unbelievable high. At the end of 2009, I switched home insurances to better offers for all my properties. Liberty Mutual and Allsate refunded the remaining balances immediately. James Abruzzo with Farmers would not cancel the policy. Instead they told me I had to write them a letter for cancellation. After I sent them a cancellation letter in January 2010, they still charged my mortgage company from January to April 2010. Farmers wanted $1, 500 for a policy I could get with $800. Yet they would lie to my mortgage company to get my money. Be careful and stay away James Abruzzo and Farmers at Virginia Beach, VA.

James Abruzzo is an agent, not the insurance company, and is required to follow procedures, by getting the request in writing, it elimantes the legallities of cancelling early, lapses of coverage, potential claims during a lapse. Insurance companies require written request to change coverages to avoid miscommunications with the clients, for the clients protection. In the matter above the policy was cancelled the effective date requested and a refund was issue to the client for the used time of the policy.
