Pantera Capital is a well--known crypto fund with a good reputation that was found by Dan Morehead in 2003. It operated as an ordinary venture fund till 2013 and gave preference to projects related to financial technologies. In 2013 they started investing in blockchain projects. They operate with ICO and startups.
The main Pantera Capital advantage is a good and professional team (for example it consists of Joey Krug, Jed McCaleb, Charles Noyes etc. If you don't know these people, just google them).
The company is registered in San Francisco.
I think, that their main disadvantage is uncertainty. Investors have to contact the team individually. That's not really convenient.
It also has a wide portfolio, but not all the projects were successful. So it's not a scam but it doesn't mean anything anyway and you may lose your money.
I would probably recommend you to be careful. Always.
