store customer service
Hello,
I am Isaac R. Sanabria and I would like to submit a complaint about a the cashier that helped me this last Saturday 5/3/18 at the Wilsonville Oregon store.
On Saturday as I approach the cashier I said "Hello" to him and hardly received a response as I stand in front of him he continued scanning my purchases, and when he handed me the receipt and my card he said "Drive fast take chances" I smiled astounded and said okay.
As I drove home, I thought about as if I were the owner of a respectable store I wouldn't like to have an employee that talks to my customers that way. I did not catch his name and I misplaced the receipt. He is slender, bald, and in his late forties-mid fifties.
I believe in the golden rule, I believe every one deserves to be treated with respect especially if I am paying for a product or a service.
I appreciate your attention to this matter
Sincerely
Isaac R. Sanabria
costco citi anywhere credit card
I've noticed the past few months (and it may have been the case before that) the purchases on the Citi credit card online statements do not add up to the payment amount. In trying to pursue this further and get some past statements, I click on (I've done this a dozen times or more) Services/Statements and Documents/View Account Statements, and always get the following error message, "We're sorry. Something happened and this page didn't open properly. Please try again later". So I've been stymied in trying to analyze monthly purchase total versus payment amount (which would be easy if I could access the statements, since we pay off the full payment amount each month. You need to get on Citi to fix the problem I've described; that is the inability to access previous monthly credit card statements.
Why am I complaining to Costco rather than Citi. Simple, they are completely untrustworthy (believe me, we like shopping at Costco, but you guys made a huge mistake in changing your credit card servicing to Citi). Hilton Honors (of which I'm a member) realized their mistake, and very recently switched from Citi to American Express (the opposite of what you did). My experience with Citi, when they serviced Hilton Honors, was they were dishonest and poor performers!
ge washer and dryer
1/3/18 a delivery company on behalf of Costco was making a delivery to the house. They broke the leg off the washer pedestal and still tried to install it although the washer was not stable. I refused delivery. Called costco online and they stated that they had to do a return/refund and that I needed to reorder online.
1/5/2018 was contacted to receive a new order in the morning. Then I received a second call stating they made a mistake and the delivery would not happen until 1/10/2018.
1/10/2018 waited around all day then the delivery company working on behalf of Costco shows late. They installed and left, but didn't level the washer and then we noted that afterwards the pedestal on the washer was not installed properly leaving a gap between washer and pedestal. Every time the washer went to spin the sound was metal against metal. The washer was level, just the issue with the pedestal causing the loud banging.
Called Costco was told to speak to their concierge line. Got a rep at the concierge team that contacted GE. GE's answer was to resend the tech out to fix the installation of pedestal. Found out that GE was resending the original install team.
A few days go by someone shows up from the original install company to look at the pedestal. Finally after pointing and explaining the tech finally admitted they installed it wrong, and the pedestal was damaged and needed to be reordered. The tech said that GE would reorder and call me.
Three days later no word from Costco, GE, or installation company. Called Costco Concierge. They called GE again, put me on hold. GE said they had no record of reorder of the pedestal. Finally got it reordered.
One week goes by finally the installation company calls to come out and replace the pedestal on the washer. They come out to replace and they had issues getting the washer back out of the laundry room and in doing so damaged the dryer. They some how leverage off the top of the dryer and put a large dent. The installer gets the washer out the door, proceeds to FLIP the washer upside down. The washer is a front loader, they did not put the shipping bolts in the back to stabilize the drum. The drum broke and almost came out the back side of machine. Also right before the installer was going to put the pedestal onto the washer he removed the styrofoam pads on top of the pedestal (hint what leaves the gap and leads to loud metal banging!) when the direction clearly state "DO NOT REMOVE PADS". Not sure how clear that can be! We caught him and pointed it out. Then he starts to get attitude for us correcting him. He puts the pads back on. The installer tried to put the washer back in and leave, after he was clearly angry towards us. I had a phone number of the installing company. Called to speak to the installers manager. The manager asked for the info plus the pics we had taken of the installation issue. He was going to call us back. He never did.
I got a phone call from Costco concierge. I find out that this person is third party for Costco and she can't do anything more.
One week later I am still waiting for the installation company to come pick up the washer and dryer. They called for pick up yesterday and we sat here waiting and they did not show up. Called Costco again today was told that I needed to call GE. NO I purchased this through you and gave your company money. You do the phone calling and rearranging. WHAT a disaster!
kirkland cheddar cheese
My Costco in north Las Vegas nv has been out of mild and medium cheddar cheese for the last month. This has been our families favorite cheese and a Costco staple. When i asked at the service desk why they didn't have it i was told they would not be carrying it anymore. Is this true and can they continue to carry? I will have to get cheese elsewhere thus making it continually less appealing to shop there.
gas prices
It is amazing how one costco has there price 9 cents a gallon higher than the other Costco that is less than 12 miles away.
Is the manager trying to make up some extra margin?
This is the same market and it is only about 6 miles from a Sams Club where again the price is 9 cents lower. Costco corp says each store sets their own price .
So I buy gas at the local station that is closer and cheaper than the high priced Costco in Perrysburg OH
Verbal attack about having a service animal
February 4, 2018 As I entered the Costco on 300 W. 1818 S. in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah the employee at the front entrance, who makes sure that everyone is a member stopped me and wanted confirmation that my dog was an actual service dog. Even though my dog is in training and was wearing a vest that says service dog in training he would not let me enter the facility until I answered his question. When I explained to him that in the state of Utah you cannot ask that question he began to argue with me that he could legally ask the question. Because he would not stop I asked for a manager. While I waited for the manager the employee continued his verbal assault. I told him to stop and that we had nothing more to say to each other. He continued. Once the manager arrived again the employee continued to argue. Instead of myself and the manger being able to have a conversation the employee aggressively would not stop arguing. The manager did nothing to diffuse the situation and tell the employee to stop talking and go back to his job. I ended up having to just leave because I was unable to even speak. My husband returned to get the name of the employee and he refused to give his name and said that I was not harassed. This is the second time that I have been stopped at this Costco. The first incident was resolved this one was not.
I'm sorry you felt harassed; however, I have no problem with you being asked about your dog. Unfortunately because pet owners now can claim their pet is a service or comfort animal without proof, it is hurting the legitimate service animals. My friend who trains service animals is also outraged over dogs being taken everywhere and misuse of claims of being a service animal. I was at a Costco in California the other day and a dog was clearly not a service dog by the actions of the owner. Children were allowed to pet the dog and the owner tied it up in the meat section while he was shopping. I asked my friend about that and she said absolutely the dog should never be petted by strangers. So I think all owners should have some type of proof. Again, it's so easy to go online and buy a vest or paperwork. I really don't know what the answer is except my asthma and allergy to dogs & cats isn't taken into consideration.
Rotten rib of lamb
Unfortunately, I purchased a rib of lamb on 2/3 posted to sell by 2/21. The lamb was completely rotten and smelled up my kitchen. Called the store location I purchased the meat from and spoke with a store manager who was rather calm in nature. Rachel informed me that she would personally examine the meat and ensured a complete refund or an exchange. Drove 24 mins back to the store only to be confronted by 2 different "Merchandise Service" cashier's. I explained the situation and the "1" cashier eating ice cream informed me that her manager examined the meat and found nothing wrong. Followed by I need to walk in the meat department and purchase another one. How rude?! In addition, the store manager never came to personally address the issue like she claimed. Such poor customer service. I happened to really like that location now I'm starting to reconsider.
Return staffs
I have been a normal customers for Costco for over 10 years. I have complaints about the staffs in return desk in 1 Yorktech Dr, Markham, ON L6G 1A6
1. Not enough training - not meeting market standard,
Return staffs have been expressing why you returned this attitudes or ask
questions that would give pressure to customers returning products.
2. Not effecient
When comparing Richmond hill location at 35 John Birchall Rd, Richmond Hill, ON L4S. Richmond hill staff are more responsive to the line up, they always go and scan returns before reaching the return desk. That is much better customer service, however, very likely i see that happen in the yorktech location.
3. Building entrance logictics - very bad.
At Yorkland, empty carts placement is next to exit instead of entrance, also unlike the Richmond Hill.
Texas dallas plano costco

Poor customer service
I just visited and made a purchase at the Costco Business Center location store #564. My items were on the conveyor belt next to ring up the cashier takes my card provides no greeting or anything. Then she reaches some random man credit card standing off to the side card and walks away to grab a gigantic cart of items then start ringing up items on a reciept manually punching in items. Not once did she(Tita) communicate with me about her having to ring him up or pull him in front of us. As we stood there confused she was asking for help I called the supervisor for her with a red vest with the name Estabean. He holds his hand up in a hush manner to me and was very rude. He comes to our register the gentleman behind me ask him what's going on he start complaining he had 5 call offs and it been like this since yesterday. He never apologized and rudely complained that's it's SuperBowl Sunday. The issue of this complaint was for lack of communication from cashier and Supervisor, in addition too the Supervisor poor customer service. Even during extreme stressful times or under pressure an employee working at a Supervisor level show be able work under any conditions or staff shortage while still being friendly to each Member and definitely not hold his hand in the air. He could verbally tell me he will be able to assist:
Service at the gas pumps
There was a women standing at the petrol pumps with pink hair obviously helping people out. Or that was her duty, my partner was filling up the car for his elderly grandmother and got out a phone to call her for her pin for her card not realising this was not allowed. He was rudely spoken at by the lady who was working on Thursday the 1st of Feb with pink hair who gave him rude looks and continued to talk and laugh to other customers about his mistake.
I am not the type to ever complain but I felt this was rude and uncalled for.
I simply feel as if this could have been handled much better.
Thankyou for your time.
Regards, Tylah Morgan
Internet
We are members of costco in the US. My husband and I travel frequently since we are not tied down by jobs. I just wanted to check out cruises leaving from Los Angeles because a tour to China we had booked was cancelled after we had booked our flight from Mexico City and I would like to make use of the tickets. However, I can't enter the site when I had never had that problem before. I says I am not authorized to enter it. I would say that my authorizationis my costco card
Sparks facility food court latte. Price increase first of jan. 2018
We recently noticed that you doubled the price of your Latte from 1.50 to 3.00. Noticed that nothing else at the food court s price was raised. We do not order anything else at the food court due to their unhealthy effects, but the Latte was a great value and the family loved them. Many times we would stop in just to get a Latte and end up buying something else in the store. Hard to go in there and not get out without $50.00 - $100.00 worth of goods. Since you doubled your Latte price we no longer visit your facility as often as before. So the obvious question is, how much more are you making, profit wise, with this price increase? There is an old adage " stumbling over Dollars to save Dimes"
Costco special order in home consultation
I have left my personal information with representatives three times in store in hopes to get shutter installation. I never received a call back. The last time I signed up there was a special in window service with $200 Costco cab back card. I saw the ad today and it has already expired on 1/28/18 and I haven't received any calls! I left my information with a gentleman at the booth around 1/6/2018 and he said they should make contact with 72 hours to a week. I am on the line now to just place a request for Call and it took 30 minutes for me to give my information. I come to find out that with all the times I signed up in store, no one entered any of my information in. Not sure where it went to. I was just able to put in the request and hopefully someone will contact me. There is no followup on the customer service regarding window treatments. The $200 Costco bonus card ad states until 1/28/18 and I hope this promotion is extended to me despite passing the time because I was never contacted after signing up three times in the store.
Got denied on a return
I purchased 2 identical sleep science 8" mattresses back in June of 2017, one for me and one for my friend (we are on the same membership). We purchased them for our travel trailers, so they didn't get really much use... In fact he used his maybe 2 or 3 times and didn't like it because it bottomed out... He went to return it last Saturday, January 27th, at the Costco in East Wenatchee, wa. And the lady denied the return stating that they couldn't accept it as a return because it had a stain on it (really was a small mark that was dirty, but wouldn't call it a stain), and she was pretty rude about it... Almost like she was looking for any reason to not take it... I've been a Costco member for over 15 years, but my friend got so upset about how the lady treated us, that he threw away his Costco card and vows to never go back... We spend thousands there every year, but I'm afraid that this is my last...
We stopped going there unless we cannot get the item anywhere else. They are changing their return policy without actually changing it. They don't want anyone returning anything anymore. So be it. It's mostly all crap from C hi na . China must be putting pressure on them to stop taking returns.
If there is a stain of any sort the vendor won't give Costco any credit for the item. Put some sheets on the bed next time
Customer service in the photo department was horrible on saturday jan 27 in el centro costco
I arrived to Costco photo dept to pick up mu order at 330pm on Jan27 and experienced the very very worst customer service i have ever had a Costco. I habe been a customer over 25 years and never had i come across such a rude associate. I arrived gave my order number and first thing out of her mouth was i dont care about number whats your name. I gave my name and she said well whats in your order. I started by saying 2 canvas...as she walks away from me to go grab a box and doesn't allow me to finish what she had asked me. Then she scans box and i let her know i have a photo besides canvas and she states why didn't you tell me that before. I say excuse me, then she goes to photos and says whats the nAme again. I give her my name she grabd photo then comes to register and starts to scan order. I say please hold on can my father and i please see the canvass' cuz we just receieved a horrible order from Walgreens. She states well it doesnt matter if you don't like it because we get from a third party and you would have to pay then request a refund through 3rd party. I stated can we just see thme and she said she could open pkg. My dad then pulled out a pocket knife and opened pkt. He and i were pleased with canvas photos and i told her that and my poor dad starts to tell her what was wrong with our previous order and she cuts him off half sentence to give us our total. Totally rude. I was so upset i didnt want to shop after that but my dad needed items for house so i let him shop but i wasnt going to guve Costco another penny that day. Rude customer service makes you not want to return.
Personal at lake elsinore, a
I was at the Lake Elsinore, CA store checking out around 5:30pm this evening. I gave my Citibank Credit Card to the cashier as I know they need to scan it. After scanning she yelled out "I have a floater". Both registers nearby were open and each line had at least 3 customers in each line. LOTS of people around. I noticed the cashier had set MY credit card near her scanner. I picked it up and inserted into the payment terminal. Another Costco employee walked up and said, "you have a floater"? The cashier asked me for MY credit card. Without thinking this thru I sheepishly handed her MY credit card. The lady walked away. The cashier annouced my total and then handed me my receipt. I asked where MY credit card was at and the cashier motioned to the lady who was busy pushing buttons on a computer. I asked the cashier if my card had been charged and she said yes. As I fought through the crowd with my $170+ frozen and refrigerated items, feeling like a salmon swimming up stream, I could she the lady working away on a computer. I WAS NOT HAPPY! What was she doing with MY credit card. Was she duplicating the card, was she charging items on my card. No, she wanted to sell me another membership. Your company needs to rethink taking customers PERSONAL credit cards out of their possession in a time where FRAUD happens every second of the day. I AM NOT HAPPY! I told the gal no and walked away. I could hear the gal say, "well ok then". I was LIVID walking out of your store. I would have taken the time to speak to the manager but I had already stood in line for 10 minutes and wanted to get my perishible food home. PLEASE PUT A STOP TO THIS method of membership sales. If a customer wants a different membership they will visit your customer service counter with the BIG membership signs hanging on the way.
Merced costco employee - ali
Yesterday was the second time this employee refused to help us. HER NAME IS ALI, at the Merced Costco. The first time it happened, I was looking for a particular brand and size pants and she was on the next table folding clothes, I came up to her, asked my question and immediately she said "oh we dont do that". I was so surprised because I have been to many different Costco locations especially in Southern California and they all have excellent customer service. I actually have never heard anybody said NO. They would either find a way or say that they would find out for me or woyld help me to look for that. But this ALI person, she flat out said NO. And then yesterday, I went up to her again and asked if there was still a particular size shoe in a specific brand and she flat out said NO. All they have would be whatever is on the floor. I had to ask her if they dont physically help to look for the size only because the shoes I found in boxes did not fit the description and size printed outside of the boxes.
She has horrible customer service! HORRIBLE! What happened to the COSTCO tagline "customer satisfaction GUARANTEED"?
Ending cigarette sales to public in la area stores
I was extremely upset to hear that you will be eliminating cigarette sales to public in the near future. That is the only reason I shop at your Burbank store. You also stopped carrying the Kirkland decaf coffee at that store so and have been raising prices on many items I pick up when I go in to buy my cigarettes and coffee. I question whether I will renew my membership. I may get used to shopping at other stores that carry the products I would otherwise buy at Costco. Why don't you sell cigarettes at certain "hub" stores, i.e. Burbank being a hub, one in south LA, one in south beach area, etc.? And don't reply, if you do, about my health. I am 70 and will do what I do at this stage of the game. I am also politically incorrect and proud of it.
Tires
Hello I am very upset about service in carolina puerto rico cosco. I bought 4 new tires & was treated very well during the sale after agent told me that I had a appointment I arrived days later & had to make a 35min line because there was only one costumer service agent I only had 2 customer before me. Agent was really nice but was multitasking constanly laking in a good customer service my appointment was at 5pm and they made me wait until closing time to tell me There was no time to have my tires instaled They did not give me additional options & i wasted 5 hours without any meal of my time for no service, even tho I paid 500$ in tires.i am very disappointed in the service & will never purshase tires in cosco again.
