Food service
Wheaten store location 1124 food consesstion on January 23 about 13:45 I was standing to pick up my order at the pickup area the cashier was servings the others for new order. Patiently I was waiting until someone come to the pick up area the lady was standing behind me called the cashier the intersting part is the cashier ignoring me and looked to the customers behind me I said " excuse me I was here before her. And second time I was ignored then the cashier handed the order for the others customer. The cashier I noticed deliberately she hide her name tag. I never have such bad experience in Costco. Finally she handed my order without looking me and asked me the receipt for my order usually the put some markup by scratching useing nails. an employee if she is not un happy serving others let her quit there are tons of people out of work who needs to work.
For your reference this the cashier
She's is tall Black African decent she was working at the terminal beside the pickup order
Shoes
I bought K-Guard shoes before Christmas at the Durham, NC, store. They were handsome and seemed ruggedly constructed. Today (1/22/2018) I looked at the soles and they are worn through, even though I alternated wearing them with three other pairs. No one should buy them! They are awful. The top of the shoes looks alright but the black sole is a thin covering that will disappear with almost no use. I am requesting a refund.

Your Costco store in laurel mad has got to be the most incompetent Costco I have ever dealt with. The workers there are rude and behave like they don't want to work or give decent customer service. Costco needs corporate's help to get it back to its better reputation.
I have had memberships to all three big [censor]house stores out there;Sams, BJs, and of course Costco.
If I had to rate these store from best/luxury to worst/ghetto it would go like this for the most part
Costco =10/10
Sams =7/10
BJs=3/10
there is an exception to the rule here and that is with the store in laurel md
the last time I was there was over ten years ago returning something after a long debate of why I'm returning a item. he reluctantly refunded me with a merchandise credit my money.
Based on that negative experience which I have never had with Costco in
the past I have decided to never return to that Costco in Laurel MD ever again.
Fast fwd 10 years and we decided to stop into Costco to eat
and without going into detail of the incident my wife was treated at the food court like she was a foreign unwanted refugee.
Corporate headquarters needs to do something about this.
If I may suggest
have the CEO or someone who can actually make positive changes in the system/store go undercover as customer dressed and made up like a foreigner and see for themselves how bad it is in there.
Another suggestion would be to do the same as a undercover employee with hidden cameras on the person to get a real feel of what we as customers are having to tolerate on a daily basis.
I do not suggest undercover boss because anyone can or will behave in their best behavior when there is a camera looking a them so I don't recommend going that route.
Chick filet has a very extensive training program that every employee is madated to complete and pass prior to starting work on the line serving customers and taking orders.Mimicking Chickfilet corporation's training program may be a good place for Costco headquarters to start with.
Incorrect size of copy of photo
Order # [protected] at the San Francisco Costco 450 10th street
on1/16/18 for 2 prints 4 x "6."
Order picked up on 1/19/18-when brought home and attempted to place in frame-they were found to be too small, they were measured and found to be 4 x "5". Photo Dept was called and said something about the machine not printing the right size.
My question was why didnt they correct it or tell me when I picked them up that they were NOT the size that was ordered.
I was told that they could not mail correct size prints.

Bagels
I recently purchased some bagels from Costco on (1/10). About 4 days after the purchase, I noticed that the bagels began to mold at a great rate despite being kept in a clean and sealed environment. This is simply unacceptable. I don't feel safe purchasing pastries from Costco anymore if this is the quality that you are providing as if I didn't notice I could have easily become very sick or even worse. I would like a refund on these bagels as I was not able to eat any of them. I have attached photos of the bagels below.
product advertised and information given both over the phone and the advertised price and product.
January 17th Costco in Kauai Hawaii store #640 i phoned specifically to see if they had a PlayStation 4 that came with the game Star Wars that was advertised on the website. I was told yes. I came and I purchased a Costco card as I was not a member. The console was there advertised for $289 with the game Battlefront 2. When I took the Box up to pay I was told it didn't come with the game that was an old sign from Christmas. I asked if they would honor the advertisement they said they would not though the game was right next to the consoles. If I'd have known that I never would have wasted the $60 and purchased the Costco card in the first place the console is supposed to be for my nephew who lives on island and I'm leaving tomorrow so I have no choice but to buy it without the game.
You're in one of the most beautiful areas on earth. Don't worry about the game.
crystal springs
This company misrepresented their product at a very busy time at Costco. I have found myself over charged an additional charge for getting a bill. I can't believe that Costco would permit a company like this to take advantage of its customers. I asked explicit questions and told the salesperson who was actively on the floor at Costco that I only needed a couple bottles per month. They over delivered and despite calls to them which were never returned I kept on being billed. They are bad scene at Costco.
rude employees
The employee who attended me at checkout was really rude, gave me attitude and made me feel uncomfortable. I have never experienced anything like this, especially at a store that I really like. He laughed at me for a mistake I made with my credit card and told me - quoting him "you're making my job more difficult Silvia." Not only did he laugh at a customer but he made it seem that because of my race I was not able to understand, which is not the case. There were customers ahead of me whereas he was treating nicely and with respect.

food service
On Monday, Jan 15, 2018 at around 6:30 pm, I observed a Costco food attendant by the name of Matthew, handle food with the same gloves he was using at the register to handle money, credit cards, etc. I watched him with 4 customers and he repeatedly handled the hot dog buns without changing his gloves. This is not hygienic and is unacceptable. I am bringing this to your attention in hopes that this will be corrected. I thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
mocha freeze 100 % price markup from $1.50 to $2.99
Dear Costco Administrator, January 15, 2018
Hello, I wanted to tell you whom I am, I am an executive member that has raised my kids shopping at Costco. I really enjoy shopping there even if I pay more just now and then. My complaint is about first your company doubling the price of the Berry smoothie which my two grandsons love and months later doubling the Mocha freeze by calling it a cold brew. To be frank, the other mocha freeze tasted as good and maybe slightly better and was 100 percent less. I at first excepted the Berry smoothie increase but thought a 100 percent double increase was too much. I still went in line, got pizzas, berry smoothies and the $1.50 mocha freeze one for me and one for my daughter. Now I have not once gone in the food court line because I feel bad just looking at the menu, it makes me feel like not shopping at Costco anymore or very lightly in comparison to shopping there a lot and purchasing a lot. I also am getting very disappointing remarks from my daughter about this mocha freeze increase. It appears that the bottom line in the Costco company is first now and customers second, I use to feel it was at least equal. It made your company Costco special that there was at least one special item, mainly your mocha freeze that was fairly prices. Now I might as well go to Starbucks or simply brew my own coffee at home. Today I felt sad that I brought my own jug of coffee into the store, I only bought four items, a near first for me. It just is not the same. Please reconsider for psychological reasons to readjust your drink prices, mainly the Mocha Freeze weather it is cold brewed or now, seems like just a reason to justify the 100 percent inflation increase on this, at least also offer the original mocha freeze at $150.00 It will make people feel better, spend more and your company will make more money. Also after that consider reducing the berry smoothie to at least $1.75, $2.99 from $150.00. It feels like I don't matter anymore, therefore I shopped at Walmart today instead of Costco. It is true some people shopped at Costco for your $150.00 mocha freeze, it meant a lot to my family. Seattle is a much more expensive area therefore your testing the Mocha Freeze increase to double to $2.99 passed but in Arizona not a good idea! Salaries are one third or even less then in Seattle. Also I feel insulted about the coffee machine, ugg, the coffee tastes bad and has no sugar free options. Until I see the mocha freeze going back to a reasonable price I will do very limited shopping at the store, not for revenge or anything like that it is because I feel sad when I look at the menu and see the mocha freeze now a cold brew, when both were cold, at a 100 percent mark up Too much too quick. My Best Regards, , From a longtime Costco Customer and Fan
This is the fourth place I have complained concerning this issue. I agree with all the comments above. My husband I shop at Costco half the amount we used to before they dropped the old mocha and latte freeze. It is a psychological thing but that doesn’t change the reality of our shopping less because we don’t get our tasty, inexpensive treat at the end of our trip. Someone above called it exactly right-someone at Costco doesn’t understand their base to have made this change.
I was so disappointed today to see the price increase of the latte freeze at the Costco food court. It was shocking to see a 100% price change. I shop regularly at Costco and without failure, I purchase a mocha freeze on my way out, but will no longer do so. May as well go to Starbucks. I wish Costco would reconsider decrease in the price back to the original. Furthermore, this last visit to Costco was a complete disappointment as far as inside the store. Some baby clothes I bought were packed in the same box with meat and the blood leaked everywhere on to the new clothes and also a block of cheese I bought was not packed at all. I paid for an item and when I got home it was not in the box. Costco is going downhill quickly. So sad!
I was shocked by the price increase here in Utah, too. And it tasted a little different. I felt the caffeine hit too hard and it made me feel jittery all day. Used to be my favorite Saturday treat.
I've been a member at the Medford, OR Costco since they opened around 1990, and am an Executive Member. Last November, they moved to a bigger store in Central Point; but I'll be shopping there much less often now. It's not because the new store is less convenient to get to (which it is) and more difficult to get in and out (which it is). No, it's the same reason the previous reviewers stated so well : Some genius in upper management thought increasing the price of my favorite Costco treat, the Mocha Freeze, by 113 % (the Medford price was $1.40) would be a smart move and maybe the members wouldn't notice or care! Whoever made that decision doesn't know the typical Costco member very well, do they? Maybe that person formerly worked at Starbucks. Here's what Costco management should do now : swallow your pride and bring back the $1.40 Mocha Freeze, apologize to your otherwise very loyal customers, and demote the person who made that myopic decision. Or send him or her back to Starbucks !
I feel exactly the same as those who wrote before me. It ruined my day when I realized the change in price and flavor at our Spokane, WA store. I knew they had previously destroyed the berry smoothie so when I asked at the food court about the mocha freeze price increase when she rung me up ... she told me they "upgraded" it. I replied "Oh no!" in horror. Indeed they did ruin the taste (again) and I haven't had one since that day and definitely make fewer trips to Costco now. This used to be an affordable treat for me (and my daughter used to love the berry one). I understand a small change in price, but why ruin the product while you're doubling the price?
I too was very dismayed and disappointed to see the price double. It was a great deal and I would have understood an increase to $2 or something close to that, but double!? I agree with the other posts-the flavor is not as good and the caffeine content is too high. I always looked forward to getting a Mocha Freeze after shopping, but now it will only be once in a while and only if early in the day.
Even more disappointing than the cost is the amount of caffeine in the new drink - I didn’t sleep all night after having it!
Shocked and disappointed. It was my treat I looked forward to but at that price, I will not be buying it anymore. I thought Costco was better than this.
Yes, agreed, the cost increase was a bit sour to me. What was even worse was the taste of the new product. The new mocha freeze tastes TERRIBLE! I would grumble about the price increase but still get the old one. Now I just boycott the product altogether. I feel the obligation to let each warehouse I visit know how I feel by filling out those comment cards each time I'm there.
Ditto here.
I haven’t had a Mocha freeze in months. I used to get them frequently. I got one today and was shocked at the price increase and also did not care for the stronger flavor. No more for me either, especially at that price.
I agree with Alexander Solzhenitsyn above. The old Mocha Freeze was a loss leader that brought me into CostCo just to enjoy, of course while I was there I would buy some toilet paper and whatever else we needed.
I live in Rockford, just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I need to pass by two Sams Clubs before I get to the nearest CostCo. I also have a membership to Sams because it is 1/2 the price of CostCo, however the food court items are awful at Sams.
So now my positive connection to CostCo, the Mocha Freeze and polish hotdog are not gone. There is a very real chance I will not just go to Sams for that toilet paper and other items and stop across the street at a McDonalds to get a Mocha Frappe for $2.50 and save myself about 20 miles of travel and traffic.
This is a short sighted decision by Costco that will in the end cost you sales and memberships.

billed for a item twice
Hello
My member # is [protected], Tommy Lee
I was at the Westbury store on 1/14/18, completed shopping and when I arrived home and took a closer look at the receipt I noticed I was billed for 2 1087748 protein bars when I only purchased 1. I was also billed for 2 1006641 pita chicken sandwiches but 1 was refunded. The Tran. ID is [protected]. I would like this resolved online through a refund as I do not have the time to drive 30 minutes there wait 1 hour then drive back
Did you think to call the store so they can comment on your account? If the comments there the next time you shop you can get a refund.
rude cashier
Been coming to Costco for years, I understand the cashier / sacker duo. The cashier Alex, was without a sacker, stacked the items up without moving a single inch. Called over to the manager and yelled for help. And after waiting, he finally started to help fill the basket. It was like pulling teeth getting him to help. He never smiles and overall, was very rude to my family and his fellow coworkers.

cashier
The cashier is rushing customer to slide the credit card, and i realized i have a gift card to use and i asked him to cancel the transaction. So I can use my gift card. he said No and ask me to use next time. I am very unhappy with this kind of customer service. this is the only company does not allow customer to change payment option. He said " No mom, once you slide that is it, I refused to sign. His name is Issac A at the 880 Russell Ave. Gaithersburg Md 20879
cellphone booth
In 9/2017 I bought a Verizon iPhone plus from Costco in Allentown, PA (receipt attached)
In 11/2017, after 2 months I tried to return it and exchange it for iPhone X at Costco Westbury NY. (Within the 3 MO return window) Alexandra (her card attached) refused and said I could return only within 2 weeks because I have a contract with Verizon. She insisted that if I wAnt to exchange it Verizon will give me credit for half the rate phone price. I contacted Verizon they said I should contact Costco.
I believed her and I took her words as a fact.
While shopping in another Costco (after the 90 days return window expired) I told this issue to the sales person in Verizon booth, he said that's not true and Costco should have accepted the return and exchange and I would continue paying the new phone to Verizon and that's what I wanted. I know and I told "Alexandra" that I don't want a refund for the installments I paid Verizon because I used the phone. She said no, it is impossible to exchange it.
What I want now to resolve this is to exchange my iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone X. I don't need any refunds. I will continue paying installments to Verizon.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely
Ali Aziz
tire service
I recently went in for a flat repair on a tire which I purchased at Costco 3 years ago. The tires are still covered by the road hazard warranty. Unfortunately, the service tech supervisor told me that I have aftermarket wheels and he will not replace the tire unless I changed the lug bolts on my wheels or change back to my factory steel wheels. They didn't have any problems 3 years ago installing the tires on the wheels and now they are telling me that they have a new policy regarding after market equipment?
This is BS. I don't understand why they didn't have any problems installing the new tires back then, and rotating these regularly. And now they do. I have a feeling that costco just doesn't want to honor the tire warranties anymore that is why they are coming up with an absurb excuse.
n. division gas station
I brushed about an inch of slush off my car today while pumping gas, prompting the attendant to shake his head at me until I had to ask him if there was a problem. He complained that the slush will turn to ice which I can certainly understand. He then stared at me as I got in my car and continued to stare at me up until I drove away. Next time he could simply approach and explain in a friendly manner. He didn't need to be that hostile.
kirkland brand unsalted almonds
I LUCKILY! looked at an almond I was about to eat and noticed something funny looking on the tip of it. I split the almond open and there was a LARVA! inside! Absolutely disgusting. I'm afraid to eat the rest of the package now and I feel sick to my stomach thinking about I almost ate that. I don't think I will be purchasing almonds from Costco anymore.
These were purchased from the Costco in Aloha Oregon: 15901 SW Jenkins Rd, Aloha, OR 97006
employee
I was shopping at the costco wholesale in lynnwood wa. The one that's right on alderwood. I shop here every Thursday and Friday with my kids. There are never any issues until yesterday.
There was this employee, her name is Georgia and she works as a sample giver. Yesterday I had the unfortunate luck of being stuck behind her at a sample stands with my kids. For the duration of our shopping trip (about an hour) Georgia was on duty (wearing hair net, hat, apron and so on) but not serving samples, instead she was eating them all. From every single stand in your store. Normally I wouldn't say anything but today she wasn't just taking a sample and moving on to work, she was putting herself at the front of the line and taking the entire item meant to be cut up as a sample. With customers waiting behind her for one. Would they get a sample? No. Because after they've been waiting for it to cook, in came Georgia to eat the entire thing before it was cut up and passed out.
She did this at every stand. It was very frustrating for me because three kids under six generally look forward to samples and when you're waiting for one to be sliced and passed out and an employee cuts you off repeatedly and takes the whole thing it's frustrating. Having to walk out with my kids only having sampled toast because Georgia was "just so hungry" - her exact words to every sample giver she stopped at-- was kind of sad. It's the only thing a kid looks forward to.
I felt that Georgia's behavior was disgusting, rude and very selfish.
my car tire warranty
I bought a tire from Costco one year and 4 months then I had a flat tire then I went to repair but they told me I have to pay a $60 I said okay and I paid a $60. Then I have another flat tire and they told me I have to pay $79 I didn't drive my car that much this car just to take the school the kids to school and that's it I didn't drive in a lot of mileage even if it's a year and 4 months I think I only drove maybe ten Thousand Mile then why I have to pay $80 for a replacement tire and I have warranty.
lennox cool & heat system
We got a new heating, cooling system through Costco -Lennox & Sobieski. As soon as we installed, it brought so many problems and at the moment there is a heating problem so we have no heat in this cold weather. It has been very recently installed and the workers have not reached back to us to fix this problem. We have had multiple accounts of problems.
