primus home phone from costco
I switched my home phone service over to Primus Telecommunications and its now been 7 days since I have "new service" and still my phone is not working. I have now made 12 calls to the Primus 'help desk" and not one call has been returned. Neither Primus nor even Costco return calls or help requests. Since Costco sells and promotes Primus they should be partially responsible for ensuring customer service concerns get resolved.
customer service at check-out stand
Date: 10/22
At the check-out, the guy named Scott didn't bother to greet or no welcome message us. He scanned the products but nothing else. And there was the other guy helping, but didn't bother to ask whether we needed a box or anything. I found it absurd and frankly, discrimination came to my mind. I do not want to put race issue here. But I did have an impression like"Oh, white males looked down on to minorities". The customer before and after us, these guys acted very appropriate, but those customers happened to be white. So you tell me.
burned chicken bake
It was Oct. 7, a Saturday that I brought my family to go shopping at Costco in Asuza CA. After we finished shopping, my husband told me he likes to have a chicken bake that he likes a lot but we haven't had it for a while. Then, I thought it is good For dinner. I wanted to order 2 but was told only one left. Then, I ordered 2 hot dogs instead. It was wrapped in aluminum foil as usual. We took the food and head home quickly since we all felt very hungry.
It took us 15 minutes home, then we put the food we bought and drinks and we were ready to eat.
Then, the disappointment came when we saw the chicken bake is so badly burned! See attached 2 photos.
How can such burned food sell to customer? We have been shopping at Costco for years, and this has never happened before. This is not acceptable!
Return the food with your receipt to the store of purchase. They should be able to assist you with a refund or replacement.
mortgage financing
I am unusually experienced with mortgage finance as I have owned over twenty rental properties as well as my personal residence(s). I certainly have done more than 30 mortgages with many lenders. I keep meticulous records and know what to expect when getting a mortgage. This process is nothing new to me and I have the temperament to deal with the bureaucratic methods.
Costco's affiliate lender, Bank of Internet, is by a large margin the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They have no sense of urgency in processing and STILL have not provided loan documents despite my repeated pressure. This is not a situation where the borrower is slow to respond to information requests. I am extremely organized and quickly provided all required information. There are zero sticking points with my qualifications - this is 100% on them for being slow. Their lack of urgency has already caused me to blow through my loan locks (two identical properties are being refinanced) over a week ago. They simply sit on the information, sometimes for weeks without doing anything.
My intention is to warn anyone considering doing business with Bank of Internet to avoid them. The aggravation is just not worth it. There are too many other banks that cannot be as irritating to work with.
Costco's reputation is being damaged by the affiliation with these folks. I suggest a re-evaluation by Costco whether to retain their relationship with Bank of Internet. It takes a lot to get me this angry but this bank has crossed the line of poor performance and unprofessionalism.
food poisoning
To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing to address an unfortunate incident that occurred because of the food served at your North Miami Beach (#0182) store’s dining area on August 25, 2016.
At around 8:00 p.m., I ate a hotdog at your establishment (the receipt is attached). While delicious, the evening's meal had other, unfortunate, effects.
Several hours after eating the hotdog, I fell severely ill. I experienced excruciating stomach pains, a pounding headache, high fever, cramps, and I began vomiting. I went to the Emergency Room at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center where I was evaluated by Dr. Vu Tran. He diagnosed me with gastroenteritis. The only food I ate that day was the hotdog at your establishment.
I have always enjoyed the food at your store’s cafeteria, but the severity of the food poisoning caused me terrible suffering and an unexpected medical bill. Additionally, due to my sudden illness, I lost time that should have been dedicated to my work, which in turn caused me to lose out on accounts and the income those accounts would have generated. Not to mention, I lost weight from not being able to eat for a week due to the stress of the entire situation, the vomiting, and the subsequent apprehension I felt when I had the urge to eat something. In my severely weakened state, I was prevented from attending to my duties at home, the most important of which was being able to care for my 9-month old baby. I was forced to hire a babysitter to assist me with taking care of my child while I suffered through the effects of eating your contaminated food. Not being able to carry out my typical duties around the house caused quite a bit of strain and stress for the household overall.
I look forward to a response from the appropriate authority in this matter. Hopefully, you will take the gravity of my experience into consideration when you respond and, based on your response, I will have no need to confer with my lawyer to discuss a figure for compensation in this matter. I would also like to hear what you are doing to address the issue of contaminants or unhealthy cooking practices in your kitchen.
Thank you,

professional box 27 gallons
Having purchased and stacked over two hundred of these, the ten I purchased yesterday at your Georgia location, we're downright disappointing. Cheap, thin plastic that will hold no weight when stacked.
I purchased these in the past because Costco quality and price we're never surpassed. Now, I will have to return these and purchase elsewhere. Other customers were expressing the same concerns about Costco products going towards a Walmart mentality.
Just a let down customer,
Karen and Larry Freemon
kirkland bacon crumbles
We eat Kirkland Bacon Crumbles several times per week and have always loved them, but the two packages we purchased last week had many bits that were principally the rind of the bacon. They were not chewable and we had to have a plate on the side to put them to go in the garbage.
Is it going to be Costco's practice to continue shredding the rind with the bacon shreds?
flu prevention
Today I entered into the Costco on Renaissance Blvd in Albuquerque and I had wanted to wipe off the handle of the cart as my honest intention is to not get ill with the flu this year. I am 73 and status post 2 open heart surgeries. The wipes are behind the door on the right. I mentioned to the employee at the entryway that I thought it would be an EXCELLENT IDEA if they moved the container of wipes so people would SEE IT AND USE IT. She said she would talk with someone.
HELLO?
What a lack of consciousness and such a simply remedy.
kirkland grilled chicken breast strips by foster farms (item #181761)
Twice I have purchased Kirkland Grilled Chicken Breast Strips by Foster Farms (Item #181761). As this product is fully cooked & ready ro eat it would have served my purposes perfectly. If only the meat was tender as it should be and as I expected. Almost every piece contains tough, inedible tissue. I would often have to reach in and extract the "gristle" from my mouth. I will not be buying this product again. I am very disappointed as I have always relied on Costco's high standard of quality .
meat department
We traveled a distance to the Rochester NY location to purchase the advertised beef strip loin, However, upon arriving, we found out that it was a bait and switch.
Ironically the butcher, area supervisor and asst floor manager refused to cut the meat and instead encouraged us to buy the more expensive prepackaged strip steaks.
They did acknowledge that this was contrary to industry standards within the local market but refused our request and lost a $70 meat sale as well as other items we had considered purchasing, as well as us as long time customers to this department due to the poor customer service and attitude communicated.
We did speak with a customer service representative on the way out and told that we are not the only ones to be dissatisfied.
I would appreciate a call to discuss this matter and can be reached at [protected].
Thank you.

cashier service
We are Costco members for a long time and are overall satisfied with it. However, what happened today made us feel very discriminated and insulted.
We have a baby so we carry a diaper bag and put it in the shopping cart today when we went through the cashier. After we checked out, the cashier searched our diaper bag without asking permission! We carry that diaper bag in all kinds of grocery stores and never been asked or checked before! He didn't check bags of other customers in front of us. Of course he didn't find anything and gave back the bag without saying anything! This made us feel very insulted and humiliated! It made us thinking of stopping purchasing there since we are not respected in that store!
tire center
I'm at Costco Tire Center now. i come at 6.45 am wait and after they open the door at 7 am enter in signed for my car to change one tire. (I already finished payment one day begore to save some time) After I left since all the stores close and no car walk around buildings seat a bench around Tire Center and spend 50 minutes. Than I decided yo come back and see all the employees was on meeting middle of tire center and talking. My trunk was open. My tires have special locks. The employee told me that he didn't find the key. I said well wht didn't you call me. He said he called and leave me message. Nope. No missed call no message. I show him my phone to proof but same time I told him that I believed him and asked him to finish as soonas possible. He said no worries I didn't even begin making any cars yet and he go back to meeting again. Meeting? What meeting at this time while customer already wait all those time and you didn't even touch that cars. I waited another 8 minutes when I see meeting still Continue i knock the door and talked to that supervisor and asked him to stop that meeting immediately and take care ofy car. I'm general manager of a department store and there is 64 store I have to deal. I know how this is work. There is no professionalism on that to make a meeting middle of the day while customers waiting. No! Not acceptable. Please take care of this and make this manager come 15 minutes early to talk to his employees so we don't have to wait. Thank you. Eren Aksoy
my service dog
Today I was with my service dog and was told she could not come in to the store. She is my medically approved service dog. She was wearing her service dog vest, and I had her service dog ID with me. I was told that you no longer let emotional support dogs in. I was then asked what problems I was having that I need her with me. I felt these questions were a total invasion of privacy. This type of treatment is totally uncalled for.
night shift manager rocio caguas puerto rico
Yesterday was the third time my brother and myself get to Costco in Caguas Puerto Rico to do the night line for electric generators since we didnt got any luck on monday nor Wednesday. At 1 am Carlos the other manager let us know that there was a sustancial number of generators finally soo we decided to stay. We waited and waited. At 5:45am Rocio the other manager got out really mad and said that this "thing" (the night line for generators) had to end and that this was the last time they allowed it. I think she forgets that the people in the line are there because they really need it like the gentlemen behind us, he was almost 90 years old (really sweet guy). We really need it in this crisis that we are living in PR. We sacrifice our sleep and security being there over night outside.
Anyways at 6 am they let people in. And at 8am we learned that the 80 electric generators had been sold. ? If she had been more humane she had said the quantity at 1am and people after that number like ourselves would haved left and got a little sleep. She was very unprofessional and inhuman leaving people out in the open for more than 16 hours. If she had the courtesy of letting the people know how many generators there where people would have leave a little less angry.
We offer to pay in advance for the generator but they said no. We tried buying it online with no success. We really need one for our dads dairy. With out it he has no power to supply water to the dairy. It is the only dairy sending milk in the east of PR area.
We are considering to not renewed our executive membership with you guys for this inconvenience and lack of respect. The crisis that we are living its really bad and people are desperate and a little of consideration would be well received. And Rocio manager of costco Caguas lacks it.
I attached a little video of the people waiting and we had a great attitude until she was soo disrespectful
visa card not matching member name refused by cashier
On October 12, 2017, when we checked out at Costco store, the cashier refused a Visa card with my name on it. I was accompanied by and paying on behalf of my wife, who is a member. I am not a member as we gave the family membership to our son. We were told only a Visa card with my wife's name is acceptable, or we pay in cash. I called the manager over and he stated that he sees no problem with using my card. In fact, what is the difference between using my credit card or my cash? We have been shopping at Costco for many years in different cities and two countries and have never encountered this restriction. I reviewed the payment rules and nothing is stated about requiring the name on the Visa card to match the member name. It was embarrassing for us as it held up the line and we felt like we were somehow cheating. I do not see how this rule benefits Costco or customers, we will certainly not renew if these petty rules are enforced. Member#[protected]
membership desk service
An employee goes by the name Irma failed to present herself in a professional manner. I was requesting a copy of my membership for unintentionally leaving my card at home. I presented her a valid veterans ID and asked me "what kind of ID is this?" In a very rude tone. I replied, it is a veterans identification issued by the goverment. I told her that my membership is under costco family membership as my sister is a costco employee. I told her she printed out her membership not mine and told itll be ok. Upon checking out, they had to do the same and search for my name. Her rude attitude and demeanor clearly shows her unprofessionalism as i over heard her say to another employee that it wasnt a good day yesterday so i assume she isnt having a good day. Please address this to her to be a little bit more professional as i presented myself in a very good way when requesting a copy of my membership.
red seedless grapes
provided by SamSonS. Fowler Marketing intl, Fresno CA
purchased at aFt Myers Warehouse
grapes are very thin skinned and bruise easily and then mold.
hard to take off stem without squishing grape
Not up to Costco high standard...will not buy again from this supplier.
All winter the fruit sold by this ware house has been great, and is a main attraction for me to go out of my way to shop there. The employees are caring, friendly, and able to solve problems.
heritage security products 30/50 caliber metal ammo cans
Hello,
I was very disappointed today (11-Oct) while at my Goleta, CA Costco I saw this product being sold. It is my opinion that this is an inappropriate item to be sold at your locations. I plan to let all of my friends know of this as I believe that the USA needs to reign-in guns and accessories. In all of my past visits to Costco I do not recall ever seeing gun-related merchandise. I certainly hope that Costco will put common-sense over profit. If not, you shall lose at least this long-time customer. Thanks...

poor quality product and customer service
Today was a very disappointing day at Costco Optical in Tumwater, WA. I have been a loyal customer but today I have decided not to use optical services at Costco anymore. I have bought several eyeglasses at Costco and referred clients and friends to it. I have also heard from some friends that Costco eyeglasses were poor quality but I was never convinced of it. Now all of this has changed.
Two years ago or so, a pair of Costco eyeglasses got broken within 6 months of purchase but Costco replaced it and said it was a "one in a lifetime experience" at their store. As I had paid $60 for it, I thought it was the price. Since then I started buying more expensive glasses. Today, I woke up and as I placed my eyeglasses, they just fell apart. These are $300 eyeglasses purchased in January. I was very upset. I am very careful with my personal things in general, and I keep my glasses in their case whenever I am not using them. When I had some time between clients, I went to Costco Optical today and showed it to the staff attending me (which was the manager Pam). I explained the situation and asked her if she could fix it. It was not broken. The two parts were not sliding into each other (see pictures below). The manager looked into it and said that something had been done to the glasses, they had been bent or else. I told her it was not what happened. She insisted on it, saying she had a lot of experience in it. To which I thought, "well, it seems you do not have as much experience after all, because you are wrong". I was amazed at it. I had paid more than $300 on this glasses and in 9 months they were not functional. She said I could buy another pair of glasses. I told her this was not fair: she was accusing me of doing something I had not done and trying to sell me another pair of glasses. At no point she owned that it was a poor product itself. I told her that those glasses should be priced at $30, to which she got upset and said she would not look for another pair for me and would refund it to me. I was surprised with the lack of caring from this manager. As she saw it was getting difficult for her to explain what happened, she did not want to attend to me anymore, just return the money. Those glasses were very essential to may daily work and now I would stay days without glasses. Her words became patronizing, to which I answered: I am an immigrant, please treat me with respect. As the manager went to plan the refund (which took a very long time to be completed), she would sometimes refer to me as "honey". After a while, I had to ask her not to call me that name anymore because I had not allowed her to do so (to which she apologized; how perceptive). I left with the refund and will definitely not buy glasses at Costco anymore. Two bad experiences: the first one dealt with effectively, the second one with a lack of respect and dignity that was appalling. I expected more from Costco, but I would imagine that something might be going wrong as it is now providing less than respectable customer service. I thought you needed to hear this story. Maybe there is a way to get things working better again at Costco. Maybe by starting doing better customer service training to your staff.
charity
I noticed that immediately after hurricane harvey Costco setup an avenue to collect donations for victims of hurricane harvey but there was no effort or attempt with Hurricane Maria which struck Puerto Rico and it's American citizens to raise and or collect donations for those victims...WHY?
I hope there is not a double standard in Costcos implementation of charity work as Puerto Rico and it's citizens are American.
